Two Tippinators Squads Enter Overkill Sportz Exhibition Tournament

Saturday July 1st was a perfect day for paintball at the Overkill Sportz three man exhibition speedball tournament held in Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia. Sunny skies and warm breezes greeted the 10 teams who entered the tournament. The Tippinators made a strong showing by entering two teams for the event; Tippinators Grey Squad (Juno, Krush, Fireball) [pictured] and Tippinators Green Squad (Hired Gun, Jimbo, Charon, Fuzzy).

The Grey Squad made a great showing for their first tournament placing ninth, winning three games and gaining points every game with aggressive charges to the 50 and showing advanced level moves not typical of a first time tournament team. Austin 'Juno' Flaherty, Captain of the Grey Squad, said "The field setup provided some interesting play as most teams would run a player to the 50 position off the break. This made for fast and furious play between everyone."

The field at the tournament was evenly matched with the Green Squad needing only 60 points to vault from their sixth place finish to third place and a spot in the finals. The Green Squad's continuous raise in the standing with each tournament played and being one win out of the finals in this most recent tournament makes the team confident that they will have a podium finish before the end of the season.

Tippinators Captain Bruce 'Charon' Johnston sees a great season in store for the team, "There was some great ball being played out there today and we [Green Squad] were lucky enough to be able to hold our own against some very talented players. The guys on the team are gaining more confidence in themselves and each other with every tournament. I am really looking forward to see what happens between now and the end of the season."
